Maryam and Mubarak’s journey began in 2021, when friendship quietly blossomed into something deeper. At first, Maryam played hard to get, a little mystery, a little charm but Mubarak’s persistence and warmth slowly broke through her walls.

Fate played its part when Mubarak joined the IT department where Maryam was serving during her youth service year. Their friendship deepened amidst shared projects, tech talk, and laughter. Every day, Mubarak looked forward to Maryam’s radiant smile; one that could light up even the toughest day.

Though Maryam turned down his date invitations time and again, Ramadan in 2022 brought a turning point. Mubarak playfully invited her for an Iftar dinner at the Hilton, teasing her for sharing her birthday cake with everyone at work except him. With a lighthearted promise that it was all halal and that he’d even read Suratul Maryam that night so she finally said yes.

That evening changed everything. What followed were countless shared moments dinners, picnics, conferences and a growing bond that no one in the office could quite suspect. Mubarak’s family, however, soon noticed the shift: his lunchbox now carried Maryam’s home-cooked meals, and he often stopped by her place on his way home.

Their love grew naturally, beautifully, and deeply. On July 5, 2025, in London, Mubarak asked Maryam to marry him. She said yes and now, surrounded by family and friends, they are so grateful to celebrate the beginning of their forever.
